Retail Buyer

Windfield is growing quickly and we are looking for someone to oversee our retail station at our headquarters in Atkinson, NH. Our ideal candidate is a reliable, dependable team member who is comfortable working in a customer-facing role. 

Windfield is a single source recycler who accepts scrap metal at our retail station. This candidate will be responsible for overseeing the cash register, weighing and assessing scrap metal from customers, and providing a great customer experience. 

Requirements: 

  • Full-time, Monday - Friday

  • Opportunity for overtime, ½ day Saturday shift

Responsibilities: 

  • Manage the cash register at the retail station at or facility in Atkinson, NH

  • Inventory management; creation of finished goods from work-in-progress (WIP).

  • Housekeeping of one’s respective operational area.

  • Communicate with Windfield team members and customers throughout the shift.

  • Represent Windfield when working with customers and truck drivers. 

  • Always put safety first and will always wear appropriate PPE. 

  • Should prefer working in a team environment but be comfortable working on independent tasks. 

Day-to-day expectations: 

  • Pre-inspect and clean retail station to ensure that it’s presentable to customers and ensure that it’s a safe environment 

  • Communicate regularly with Windfield Operations and the Facility Supervisor to ensure effective and efficient retail operations

  • Adhere to and understand safety policies and regulations 

  • Perform other related duties as assigned 

What will give me an edge over other applicants?

  • Strong communication skills and ability to provide great customer service

  • Previous experience working retail, customer service, or scrapyard 

  • Bilingual in Spanish and English are a plus, but not required

  • Experience operating forklifts, but not required
