Windfield is growing quickly and we are looking for a Mechanic who is responsible for diagnosing and repairing problems with vehicles, machinery, and equipment to ensure they are safe to use and functioning properly. Windfield is a single source recycler who accepts scrap metal downstream and on site. 

The ideal candidate for this role is a reliable and dependable team member, and will have experience working in a fast-paced environment while putting safety first. 

Requirements: 

  • Full-time, Monday - Friday 7:30am - 4pm Saturdays as needed 

  • Travel required between our three locations; Atkinson, NH, Lawrence, MA, Haverhill, MA

  • Valid driver’s license 

  • Experience in servicing and maintaining the list of equipment required (listed below) 

Specific equipment includes 

  • Excavators 

  • Loaders 

  • Forklifts 

  • Tri-axle trucks 

  • Dumpsters 

  • Trailers 

  • Hoppers 

  • Shears 

  • Balers 

  • Shredders 

Responsibilities: 

  • Fabrication and welding equipment  

  • Preventive and routine maintenance across all trucks and equipment

  • Changing tires on trucks and leading up our tire program 

  • Replacing hydraulic hoses 

  • Facility maintenance and housekeeping

  • Use software to ensure assets are tracked and work orders are being completed

Day-to-day expectations: 

  • Regular inspections and routine maintenance on trucks and equipment to ensure we are being proactive and putting safety first

  • Upholding the health & safety protocols to ensure you, team members, and customers are safe around all trucks and equipment 

  • Ensuring strong communication with onsite Supervisors and truck drivers to ensure any work orders are being executed in a timely manner. 

  • Maintaining, inspecting, and cleaning all equipment

  • Keeping your work area and facility grounds clean and organized

  • Manage software to ensure all equipment information is up to date, tracked, and work orders are completed 

What will give me an edge over other applicants?

  • Experience with similar equipment and assets

  • Strong communication skills, housekeeping skills, and attention to detail are a must 

  • At least 1 year experience 

What will give me an edge over other applicants?

  • Experience in scrap metal or similar industry is a plus 

  • Experience in Sennebogen / Terex Fuchs and loaders is a plus
