Windfield is looking for a Forklift Operator to join our team at our site in Atkinson, New Hampshire. This site oversees material handling from our feeder yards, customers, and internally. The ideal candidate for this role puts safety first while being able to maintain an efficient and effective work environment.

This reliable candidate is highly communicative and responsible. They are confident and comfortable with packaging, moving, stacking, and removing material in a warehouse environment, safely maneuvering around team members and customers. 

Requirements: 

  • Full-time, Monday - Friday 7:30am - 4pm 

  • Opportunity for overtime as needed 

  • Reliable transportation to and from work 

  • Forklift certificate or training

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operate forklift equipment safely and efficiently.

  • Load and unload products from trailers, truck beds, or storage areas.

  • Perform daily equipment checks to ensure operational safety.

  • Maintain accurate inventory records and report discrepancies.

  • Follow safety protocols and company procedures.

  • Assist in maintaining a clean and organized work area.

  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.

  • Accurate inventory management, tracking, and data entry into computer system 

  • Maintain quality control of material 

  • Uphold safety best practices to ensure the health and safety of yourself, team members, and customers 

Skills:

  • Basic language skills to understand and follow instructions.

  • Basic mathematical skills for inventory management.

  • Proficiency in operating forklift machinery.

  • Attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Ability to work independently and in a team.

What will give me an edge over other applicants?

  • Experience in scrap metal or similar industry is a plus 

  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus, but not required

  • Strong communication skills, housekeeping skills, and attention to detail are a must 

  • At least 2 years experience operating forklifts
